1^st Annual Classic Car Show

June 13, 2010

The 1^st Annual Classic Car Show was held Saturday, June13th, at Findlay Lincoln Mercury.  The show and the contest were a huge success, attracting over 40 rare and restored vehicles and more than 150 people. All enjoyed the BBQ and live oldies music performed by Ron Livingston. And a Special Congratulations to these Contest Winners below:

CLASSIC CAR CATEGORY (1^st Place): ROBERTO JUAREZ

                        1953 Mercury Monterey

Roberto’s father purchased the Monterey in 1953. His 2 brothers each had the car for awhile, but eventually Roberto took ownership of it in 1983.  The frame up of the car started in 2000 and was completed in 2008.  Roberto’s father passed in 2005, but his influence is clearly felt on the completed project.

HOT ROD CATEGORY (2^nd Place):  DARRYN ROBYN

1966 Chevrolet Nova. Darren

Only 16 years old, Darren works on his Nova with his grandpa. This is a great story different generations and their love of cars coming together.

THEME CAR CATEGORY (3^rd Place):  ERNIE McKINNEY

1961 Corvair Rampside pickup truck.

It is a very unique vehicle and fairly rare to find anywhere.  Ernie put a seat in the back to use the Corvair as a parade truck, in which he often participates with his grandchildren.
